In the neighborhood since 1888.

From 1883 to 1924, waves of immigrants landed at Castle Garden and Ellis Island and settled on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Of the several hundred shuls (synagogues) that were in existence during that time, less than 2 dozen remain active today.
